If it's indeed the infection from the tick, antibiotics will be
the only treatment. I believe the new antibiotics he gave has
already started to work. Just need longer course.
I totally agree with you about itch being worse than pain. I think
for the past weeks, I have broken down many times in tears when the
itch simply got too much and I couldn't sleep.
